spring &all::::: a february a march an april/ snow on strawberries, openheartedness

once upon a time it was my 36th birthday:: chocolate cake & love were what we were living on.
once walking around gray's lake this winter my ear froze.
once upon a time there were two doors who lived facing each other, each trying to guess what was behind the other. miraculously, as you know, the space between the doors grew dewey and shimmered.  the doors laughed!

sometimes growing thoughtful or silly when we take a bath

a winter corner.

Robert Duncan, from "The Question":

Have you a gold cup
dedicated to thought
that is like clear water
held in a flower?

a winter balloon.
"if you have joy then say it"
put worries in a worry doll, then sleep them away

calm & various windows.
thought i had this winter: "I wish i had more time to understand time"

self,woods.
thought i had this winter: "note to self: it seems obvious but don't sell your dreams, wishes, love, hope"

what finn sees when he sees me in the woods in the winter.
sudden realization i had this winter:" i am having a hard time in my transition from being mom of a baby/toddler to being mom of a kid" (that was a few months ago. i'm glad i had that realization. because, as thoughts often do, the thought allowed me to change, almost through the mere fact of me recognizing  it/ having the thought.)

rainy window corner. winter was long: shockingly long.

woods walk.

bald eagle see!

finn spin.

the field we go to, in union park, several blocks away

again finn spin

friends we got to visit in iowa city, city of love

then spring did happen, and bikes!

we all have bikes now! and rode them all along the trails until we got to gray's lake.

then it snowed again and winter would never end! it snowed the first days of may, right on the strawberry plants i planted::::::

but then melted quickly and here we are with bikes again, our new loves.

and i've already made a summer list of summer things i'd like to do:
write poems
write a kid's poem book
gather an anthology of contemporary poetry for kids
bike riding
swimming
make reading list: read
play viola
camping
reading pedagogy/ teaching prep, lessons to develop
make photo books/ organize photos
be a good friend
