this post is done in the spirit of what we DON'T do; or perhaps, what we DO do but even still it seems like we have done NOTHING!

file under: thing that makes this blogposting possible:::::finn naps in unmade bed
file under: simple thing attempted from the amanda soule book:::::excited to make these green tshirt pants--the first ones i attempted i made way too low for a cloth-baby bottom--and then! i was almost done with these! and my sewing machine freaked out and started sewing really loosely (see the bunched up blue thread at the waist?)
file under: before me sits. . .. :::::: a box of unpaid bills; a bunch of dishes to be done, evidence of weekend revelry; recycling to be recyled (though, to be fair, we actually did take a huge amount of recycling to the plant on friday--so this is actually a less chaotic corner than it used to be)

  1. i'm loving your sewing projects! the cosmic playmat is especially fabulous!

if the thread is bunching up, the tension might be too loose. does your bobbin have a metal casing? if so, there is a little screw on the side, you can try to tighten the screw and that might help with the tension. also, make sure you're using the right sized bobbin, otherwise that can mess up the stitches, too.

happy spring! i love the pix of you and finn:)

  3. so i'm supposed to be studying...but i saw this tutorial on how to turn a band t-shirt into a onesie. a little late for finn, but maybe you could modify the pattern for a toddler sized shirt?
